FocusPhone is much more than a launcher

When we talk about a minimalist phone, it is easy to assume that all you need is a simple launcher, fewer icons and a different wallpaper. But FocusPhone is much more than a phone with a minimalist launcher.

FocusPhone is a smartphone that goes through a complete personalization and configuration process before it reaches you. We start with Android and adapt the system experience to make it simpler, less stimulating and more focused on what you actually need.

The goal is not simply to make the phone look minimalist. It is to make using it feel different.

A conventional smartphone is designed to provide instant access to thousands of apps, social media platforms, video games, videos and all kinds of content. FocusPhone takes the opposite approach: giving you a fully functional smartphone without turning it into a constant source of distraction.

That is why we configure the system, select the apps you want to use and limit those that can interfere with your attention. You can have WhatsApp, Google Maps, Spotify, your banking app or the tools you need, without having to live with a screen full of apps, notifications and stimuli.

A smartphone also designed for children

FocusPhone can also be an alternative to a conventional smartphone for children and teenagers. Parents can decide which apps are available and protect certain settings with a PIN.

FocusPhone can be used without a browser, or with Internet access combined with filtering that automatically blocks categories of content such as adult content, social media, gambling and other sources of distraction.

And it is not simply about trusting a child not to install certain apps. FocusPhone restricts access to Google Play and controls the addition of new apps, preventing users from freely changing the device's setup themselves.

It also includes an emergency calling feature, allowing children to quickly contact their parents when necessary.

Much more than a minimalist screen

The difference between installing a launcher and using FocusPhone lies precisely in everything you cannot see.

We do not simply change the home screen. We work on the system configuration, available apps, restrictions, Internet access and different protection mechanisms to create a consistent experience.

That is why FocusPhone can be a minimalist phone for adults, a tool for reducing distractions and regaining control over screen time, or a first smartphone for children with a much more controlled environment.

The technology is still there. What changes is our relationship with it.

The FocusPhone  of FocusWave is not designed to give you more things to do on your phone. It is designed to make your phone interfere less with the things you want to do away from it.

That is the real purpose of FocusPhone: fewer stimuli, fewer distractions and more control over your phone.
